This company exists because of one overpriced tire.
$176 for a tire the neighbor bought for $118. Same tire. Same week. Two miles apart. That's the whole origin story — the rest is us making sure it doesn't happen to you.
How it started
A spreadsheet, a grudge, and a flat tire
Our founder hit a pothole in 2022 and needed one tire, fast. Paid $176 at the first shop. A week later his neighbor mentioned getting the exact same model — size, brand, everything — for $118 down the road. Fifty-eight bucks. For nothing.
He got mad. Then he got organized. Built a spreadsheet that pulled tire prices from a handful of retailers and refreshed it daily. Friends asked for access. Then friends of friends. At some point the spreadsheet broke under the load and AmericaTire became a real product. The mission hasn't changed since: nobody should overpay for tires just because price shopping takes hours. The data exists. Someone just had to put it in one place.
To be clear about what we are: a comparison tool. We don't sell tires. We don't ship anything. You find the best tire deal here, then buy from the retailer directly.
What we stand for
Three rules we don't break
Independence
No retailer pays us for placement. Rankings come from price and availability, period. If a shop is cheapest, it's on top — whether they like us or not.
Honesty
We show the data even when it's boring. If prices haven't moved in a month, that's what you'll see. No fake countdowns, no "only 2 left" theater.
Practicality
You're not here to study tires. You're here to not get ripped off. Search, compare, buy, done. Guides are there if you want depth — skip them if you don't.
Our team
Three people. That's the whole company.
Small on purpose. Subscriptions cover salaries and servers, so we don't need to chase retailer money.
